Walking 450km Across Switzerland in 15 days or less - for Children in precarious life situations

My name is Gerina, and I use my vacation money to donate to the non-profit organization Save the Children. So many youngsters are being robbed of a happy childhood — that’s why I donate 1 CHF for every kilometer I walk. With every step, I imagine how this amount could bring smiles, laughter, relief, and joyful moments to some children around the world.

The journey:

I will walk by foot on the VIA JACOBI from Rorschach to Geneva, in 15 days or less, from July 25 to August 8, 2025, with the highest point passing over 1000m and a total elevation gain of 11900m.

Why I walk:

I have a real heart for all children.  To me, they embody genuity, goodness, growth, hope and the future. In a safe, nurturing and loving setting, children can flourish and contribute positively to this world. Unfortunately, this is by far not the case everywhere. It is painful to me to learn about so many youngsters being robbed of a happy childhood. I would like to start now to make a small difference… so I will walk this summer for two weeks straight, only with a tiny backpack, staying in very simple accomodations, and use this way my vacation money to donate to the non-profit organisation “Save the Children”: 1 CHF for every kilometer walked.
