Adrian Förster has many years of experience in the NGO sector and was most recently CEO of TearFund Switzerland. Prior to this engagement, he worked for ten years as project manager for various development projects of SAM global in Guinea and then served for four years as Deputy Managing Director and Country Manager Cameroon & Chad of SAM global in Switzerland. Förster holds a Master’s degree in law and a Bachelor’s degree in theology and international studies and will take up his position with Save the Children Switzerland as of September 1st.
The CEO of Save the Children Switzerland, Ömer Güven, left the child rights organisation at the end of May after five years to take up a new professional challenge. During the transition period, Sven Hoffmann, President of the Board, will supervise the operational business of Save the Children Switzerland.
“I would like to thank Ömer Güven very much for his great commitment and important contribution to the successful work of Save the Children Switzerland over the past five years. At the same time, I am delighted that in Adrian Förster we have found an experienced manager as our new CEO. We are convinced that he will further develop Save the Children Switzerland in the coming years and set the course for the future,” said Hoffmann.
