Information about the partnership
The cooperation, which began in 1994 with issues relating to child labour, now encompasses our entire international organisation. Together with IKEA, we ensure that millions of children receive a quality education. With our joint projects, we want to make a better, healthy and safe life possible for children all over the world.
IKEA helps refugee children in Switzerland
We have received active support from IKEA Switzerland for our national project Child Friendly Rooms in asylum accommodations. With the help of a total of 48 employees, IKEA has set up five child-friendly rooms in asylum accommodations in Zurich, Lugano and Berne. If we want to achieve true peace in the world, we must start with the children. This quote from Mahatma Gandhi has taken IKEA to heart and, with the proceeds of the Softtoys campaign, is providing many disadvantaged children around the world with a comprehensive education. Every child has a right to play, to learn and to develop freely. We must never forget that children are the future of tomorrow!
Toys for a good cause
For several years IKEA has sold soft toys and other toys during the Christmas season and donated part of the sales price to children's charities, including Save the Children.
With this campaign, the IKEA Foundation supports the development of children, gives them an opportunity to learn and encourages them to play. Together, for example, we support refugee children in Ethiopia and Bangladesh and ensure that they are protected and have access to education. With this engagmenet IKEA gives children a chance for a better future.
