ABOUT SAVE THE CHILDREN

As the leading independent children's rights organisation, Save the Children has been advocating specifically for children's rights since 1919. In Switzerland and around the world, we care that children survive, can go to school and are protected.

We ensure that children have access to health care, food and education - regardless of their gender, origin or faith. We are also committed to protecting the most disadvantaged children from exploitation and abuse.

Save the Children is active in Switzerland and worldwide. We work in around 120 countries. You can find out more about the projects that Save the Children Switzerland finances and supports in our current annual report or on our projects page.

Yes, Save the Children is also committed to helping disadvantaged children in Switzerland. Since 2015, the focus of our Swiss projects has been on work for refugee children. Our team has great expertise in the field of asylum and migration. Learn more about the projects in projects in Switzerland".

Save the Children Switzerland does not arrange international volunteer placements. In each of our projects, we work together with our local staff who are familiar with the area, as well as with selected partner organisations.

Save the Children Switzerland relies on donations to support children in Switzerland and around the world. We acquire new monthly donors through a direct conversion with our experienced and trained fundraisers either on the street, in public spaces such as shopping malls or other, and/or at the doorstep.

Our fundraisers always wear red Save the Children clothing and carry an ID card. They do not accept cash or donations in kind. If you would like to support children in need, you can fill out a form for a regular monthly donation. If anything seems suspicious, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Please refer to this page for further information about our Face-to-Face activities in Switzerland.

With your regular contribution you help us to support children immediately and permanently. Regular donations are very important for our project work because predictable donations make it easier for us to design our projects for children in the long term and guarantee their lasting effect. As a monthly regular, you will receive the Save the Children magazine three times a year. It provides you with background information on our work in Switzerland and worldwide. You will also find out how your donations are used.

As a monthly regular donor, you can support children in need from CHF 20 per month.

Yes, donations to Save the Children Switzerland are tax deductible. By mid-February, Save the Children Switzerland will automatically send confirmation of the donations made in the previous year. If you have not received the confirmation or have lost it, we will be happy to resend it to you.

Save the Children Switzerland is a member of the ZEWO Foundation, the Swiss certification body for charitable fundraising organisations. We are regularly inspected and fully comply with the strict requirements necessary for the ZEWO seal of approval.

Four out of every five francs donated go directly to our projects for children. Our current annual report with the annual financial statement and detailed information on project work and use of funds is available online.

Simply inform us of your new address via our contact form on our website. Of course, you can also contact us at 0041 44 267 74 70 or info@savethechildren.ch.

You will find the most important information about the procedure on our website in the Celebrate and Give section.

Save the Children Switzerland does not offer single-child sponsorships, as this type of donation is not possible under the ZEWO seal of approval. With a regular donation of at least 20 Swiss francs a month, you can still make a lasting and regular commitment to the most disadvantaged children and support the projects in the long term.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept donations in kind. The distribution of donations in kind from Switzerland in our project regions requires a great deal of financial and logistical effort. As a ZEWO-certified organisation, we are obliged to use our funds for a specific purpose, which does not allow us to transport donations in kind to our project areas. For this reason, our projects are based on donations that are used sustainably and sensibly on site.
