Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC)
The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is the agency for international cooperation within the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA). The SDC is responsible for the overall coordination of development and cooperation with Eastern Europe and other federal offices, as well as for federal humanitarian aid.
At a development policy, technical and operational levels, the SDC relies on competencies and capacities as well as on the experience and networks of non-governmental organisations ("NGOs"). Depending on the context, it cooperates with local, international or Swiss non-governmental organisations. The competencies and performance record of Swiss NGOs form the basis for partnerships and cooperation.
As a Swiss NGO, Save the Children Switzerland has been working with the SDC since 2012: Save the Children implements SDC mandates, and the SDC supports Save the Children programmes in various countries through project contributions.
